Just for kicks I checked out prices (not that I'd go - not my thing): through Ticketmaster, $63.00 - ya gotta be kidding! I hope it's actually cheaper for the average joe out there.

Ticket sales are tanking bad for this. I find it really hard to believe they thought they we're gonna fill 3-4,000 tickets at that price, in this economy (and this being a cheap ass town in the first place) for basically a 90's nostalgia act.

I know I'm an old bastard, and times have changed, but I remember paying less than ten bucks to see Cheap Trick there (on the Dream Police tour, no less) and it was great! Cheap Trick fan here - no shame Smiley

If they were to book Cheap Trick in there at $20-$40 a ticket they could probably fill the place. People still know and love Cheap Trick (a big fan of them myself. I saw them there too). When you say "Third Eye Blind" most people don't even recall their hits (or confuse them with 3 Doors Down, Matchbox 20. Local H etc).

One of the biggest problems is that the McMorran was not built for sound and I think most people know that. They don't want to pay the outrageous ticket prices for a place that sounds like crap.

Last night I was joking with Brian Bernum that they should get Kelly Pickler there and they'd sell out the place - then today I find this reference to her!

Yeah - they really blew it with this one - I don't know who these bookers are, but you've got two major things to consider when setting up something like this : 1) how much draw the act has, 2) can you keep prices under $20 (this is PH after all).

I think if they started booking niche type shows in the theater (a la LEXMTC) they could do very good but maybe it's not big time money enough for old McMorran.
