Nerds On Site® Working Together With March Of Dimes To Save Sick Babies on Saturday, February 6th, 2010
Nerds On Site® introduces computer technology and social media to help increase donations for the March of Dimes of Port Huron 54th Annual Jail & Bail Event.
Nerds On Site® and their team of eNerds have big hearts when it comes to charitable causes. From their very own “Fill The Beetle, Feed The People FUNdraiser”, where they have been able to collect and deliver more than 30 tons of food for local food banks around the world as a result of generous donations, to collecting and matching donations for the recent Haiti Earthquake Relief, Nerds On Site® are truly Nerds for all.
The proceeds of the March Of Dimes Jail & Bail Event will go toward saving sick babies, and improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Nerds On Site® is honored to help out by introducing social media and live web feeds to this event to further publicize and increase donations. This entertaining and action packed full day event will also include televised baby races. The Jail & Bail prisoners will be provided with telephones and computers to use in soliciting pledges throughout the day. People can monitor the prisoners through a live web feed and the prisoners have been encouraged to bring their own PROPS to make their “arraignment” more fun and festive as they interact with one of the judges.
This year’s March of Dimes Jail and Bail event, which will involve nearly 400 volunteer prisoners and workers, has earned national recognition for being the TOP JAIL AND BAIL IN THE COUNTRY!
The JAIL & BAIL originated in St. Clair County back in 1957, and was the “brain child” of former WTTH Radio (now WPHM) Disc Jockey Lee Van Dam. The event is now held in almost every state across the nation, and raises over 4 million dollars annually.
The March Of Dimes Jail and Bail event is taking place on Saturday, February 6th, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, 927 - 6th St., Port Huron, MI. Volunteer prisoners will be picked up and arrested by Port Huron police and imprisoned until enough bail is made for them to get out or keep them in!
