February 5th First Friday Cultural Walkabout is the perfect excuse to get out of the house and beat the winter blues.  Head to Sarnia’s Downtown Cultural District to enjoy good food at any of the many restaurants and coffee shops, explore the shops, view the unique art and listen to the free music at the various venues.  As an added benefit this month, the Bayside Centre is providing extra free parking by leaving their underground parking garage open later for your convenience.
There is always something interesting to discover Downtown, but during First Friday, it is THE place to be.  Find out for yourself.

Imperial Theatre -  Portraits of Iconic Fashionistas : A portrayal of style and beauty through-out the past century - Opening: 5:00pm to 7:00pm
From capturing the 'Flapper' era to idealizing Marilyn Monroe's figure, women have been influenced by what develops through the lens of a camera, and change their appearances accordingly to fit what style and beauty has been depicted in each decade. Through paintings and digital prints, Adelle Taylor looks at specific feminine aesthetics and their physical appearances that distinguished our modern culture. While using different techniques and mediums, she shows a variety of images taken from the past, morphing them into a composition that tells a story of a specific decade.
